Bob Dylan, who has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for more than five decades, is one of my favourite idols. In this project, I collected all the lyrics of Bob’s songs from 1962 to 2012, and divided his careers into eight periods, according to the book “Bob Dylan: The Lyrics 1961 - 2012 ”. By using Processing, a creative coding tool, I generated the “ Portrait of Bob Dylan” with the songs’ names of relative periods, as well as his most frequent words in different eras, and then used these graphic elements to redesign the book covers of this book, offering readers a different view of seeing this book.
Moreover, I tried to explore the career and the music world of him, by collecting data from his biography, discography and his lyrics from 1961 to 2012. As a result, I designed an elegant and clear infographic piece of Dylan’s legendary career.
