Benny Zhang


Benny Shihua Zhang (b.1990) is an artist who specializes in visual identity design, 3D generative design, and abstract animations inspired by nature.

After receiving his B.A. in Visual Communications from Tsinghua University in 2013, Zhang worked as a UI and visual designer at TP-LINK for 3 years. He created user interfaces and branding designs for various TP-LINK products. Subsequently, he worked as a freelance visual designer for small businesses, helping them create unique visual identities.

In 2019, he decided to pursue his MFA in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design, aiming to explore new methods such as 3D generative visuals, creative coding, and interactive graphics, to express his personal interests in new visual media.

Currently, his work centers around themes of hidden beauty of nature, the impact of the Anthropocene, and our human connections to technology.
